News State house candidate arrested on public indecency, child molestation charges

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Republican candidate running for the state House of Representatives has been arrested on charges of public indecency.

According to a Cobb County arrest warrant, Andre Stafford is accused of public indecency and child molestation in connection with an Oct. 15, 2026, incident in Smyrna.

The arrest warrant said a girl walking to her bus stop was approached by a gray 2024 Kia Forte whose driver exposed himself. Police said Flock surveillance cameras tracked the car to Stafford, whom the victim identified in a photo lineup.

Stafford is running for house district 42 in Smyrna, a seat held by Democrat Gabriel Sanchez.

Stafford has been photographed with a number of prominent GOP officials, including state Sen. Greg Dolezal, who is running for lieutenant governor; U.S. Rep. Barry Loundermilk; and state Rep. Houston Gaines, who is running for a congressional seat now held by U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, seeking to unseat U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s nationally watched 2026 midterms.

ā€œMr. Stafford has volunteered on many campaigns across the state this year, including ours,ā€ Collins said. ā€œThe charges are sickening, and if they’re true then he belongs on a list and behind bars.ā€

Jackson’s campaign has said Stafford has no connection to their campaign.

Atlanta News First has reached out to Stafford for comment.

Question Who at MARTA can I complain to, that will actually listen, about them using leaf blowers after midnight at their stations?

It’s a frequent problem to hear multiple gas powered leaf blowers at the Inman Park station well after the hours permitted in the noise ordinance. Last night was the worst I’ve ever seen though, they were still going at 12:15am. Seemed to be cleaners inside the station itself, though sometimes it’s a landscape company in the parking lot.

A bunch of MARTA cops were standing around so the police clearly don’t give AF. Is there any person or department who might be at all responsive about this? It’s extremely disruptive to the immediate neighborhood, not to mention illegal.

Politics Voting signs around the Decatur Courthouse incorrectly say early voting goes until November 30; were the signs vandalized?

I couldn't get a picture since I was driving. But yeah. I am pretty sure that it originally said until October 30th, as the "NOV" was all caps.

Can anyone in the area confirm? Looks like ratfucking.

Question Locked in for Game 6! Question about apparel.

So as the title states, I'll be attending game 6 on Thursday and I'm super excited. Will there be Dream Apparel available for purchase? More specifically, are there any club level stores? It's my first game club level so I want to be sure before I go...and know whether or not I need to stop at Dick's beforehand instead.

Question Looking for weird/unconventional performers for a house party on 11/14!

Hey y’all! I’m throwing my 32nd birthday party on November 14th in the Tucker/Decatur area and looking to hire some unusual entertainment.

Think magicians, mimes, celebrity impersonators, interpretive dancers, performance artists, circus performers, experimental musicians, or really anyone with a strange and entertaining talent.

The party has a ridiculous European nightclub/avant-garde art installation vibe, and I’d love to have some unexpected performances throughout the night.

I’m open to pretty much anything. The weirder and more memorable, the better. Bonus points if it’s something that makes everyone wonder what the hell they’re watching.

If you perform or know someone who does, comment or shoot me a DM! Would love to see what you’ve got.

Question Any specific Creepy/gothic places around Atlanta for a Halloween photoshoot?

Hey everyone!!
I’m (F23 OTP) trying to venture out into my edgier/alternative side, and I have a really cool Halloween costume idea this year! (And future cosplays) I’m planning on doing a creepy, broken porcelain doll look, and I would LOVE to take some eerie, unsettling photos to go along with it.
The problem is, I have absolutely no experience with photography or scouting locations, so I have no idea where to start.

I’m looking for places around Atlanta or the surrounding areas that have that creepy, gothic, abandoned, or just generally unsettling atmosphere. Think old architecture, overgrown areas, eerie staircases, dark hallways, or anything that looks like it belongs in a horror movie.

Obviously, I don’t want to take pictures in actual cemeteries or anywhere that would be disrespectful. I’m also not trying to trespass or put myself in danger.

I’m really just trying something new and stepping outside my comfort zone!
If anyone knows some cool spots or has any beginner photography tips for this kind of aesthetic, I’d seriously appreciate it!!
