The same moment in our typing game, in the old art and in the new 320x180 pixel look

The Way Home is a small typing game: Emily walks home on a path of letters, and every key you type lays the next block under her feet. My brother designed it while teaching in Japan, and I helped him build it in Unity

This update puts the whole game on one 320x180 grid with one 32-colour palette: the forests, the letter blocks, Emily, the bosses, the keyboard and the menus. The clip switches between the old and new art every two seconds on the same moment. F10 does the same in the game, so the original look is still there if you prefer it.

Also in the update: menus in seven languages, and two typing modes where you type Chinese characters or Japanese kana through their Latin spelling.

Is there anything that reads worse in the new look than in the old?

Hello everyone!

My third metroidvania (after Super Roboy and Grumpy Jack), set in Japanese folklore, is coming along alright, and I figured I’d post a little update.

You can wishlist the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4534260/Kodama_Slumber_of_the_Gods/

The game focuses on fluid platforming, melee combat, and has a (very skippable) mythological story.

Thanks, and have a lovely day!

I'm a solo developer building a real-time body simulation where every injury creates specific wound channels and affects vitals. You can track patient status via the live monitor and X-ray view as the subject reacts to damage and tries to survive.

new trailer for our horror game, now in 9 languages so everyone can catch the vibe. does it make you want to play?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

we finished the new trailer for The Apartment and made it in all 9 languages the game supports, so everyone can catch the vibe in their own language. english, russian, german, spanish, polish, japanese, korean and chinese

on steam it just plays in whatever language your steam is set to, which is kind of cool

the game is a psychological horror about a tiny apartment and something behind the door that keeps wanting more. if you liked MiSide or No, I’m Not a Human it’s kind of that vibe

demo is coming really soon, it’s 6 days in game and there are 3 endings

would love to hear what you think before the demo drops. does it make you want to play? anything confusing? too slow? be brutal, we can take it (probably)

steam link in the comments. and please don’t open the door :)

Finally found the time to improve our capsule art! What do you think of the new one?

Post image
• Upvotes

Our game started as a gamejam, and capsule art was done quite quickly (I am the main visuals person in the team, and did all the capsule variations). After quite a successful itch release, we decided to make it into a full steam game, and the old capsule art was just not feeling right:

The game is an incremental where you (a snail) turn a desert into a lush forest, and then keep optimizing everything to insanity and darkness, and actually very little of that was shown in the initial capsule art!

So we set the objective for the new one to:

  1. Show the core fantasy (snail regreening desert)
  2. Show the main mechanic of the game (planting)
  3. Give some hints of the darkness / humor the game proposes

How did you think it went?

We’re creating a cozy horror game where a single cup of coffee can change someone’s fate. Sign-ups for playtesting are now open!

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone!
We are two artists working on the game Dark Coffee - a cozy, horror-themed visual novel featuring hand-drawn artwork. The story centers on a witch who opens a café in a mysterious, fog-shrouded town. You’ll encounter enigmatic visitors, listen to their stories, and craft drinks that can shape their relationships-and even alter their destinies.

We’ve opened sign-ups for a playtest on Steam!
The game is still a work in progress, so some elements may change. We’ll invite the first group of participants as soon as everything is ready.
If you enjoy narrative-driven games, hand-drawn art, and settling in to read through dialogue over a steaming cup of coffee, we’d love to have you join us as a playtester!

I always loved those tycoon ads but they never recreated the experience. So I made one that does.

I keep encountering this playable ads where I really had a blast and they kinda recreated that Roblox tycoon experience.

When downloading those games they really didn't matched the experience. This is pretty much the reason why I created Myne. Myne is a dungeon tycoon where I wanted to put those moments that made unique those experiences.

It's free on Google Play, Ads are optional (just for powerups :D) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dbolivarb.myne

BECOME LIFE - Story Trailer #1

Thumbnail

Hello everyone,

I am an independent developer, and I’d like to share my first game, *BECOME LIFE*, with you.
It’s a complex project that I’ve been working on for about four years, a truly challenging undertaking.

The story is set in and inspired by the Puglia region in Southern Italy.
It’s a narrative-driven action/survival game that follows the protagonist, Sam, as he searches for his family and tries to unravel the mystery surrounding the events that unfold throughout the adventure.

It’s not a full open world game, but rather a semi-open world experience, featuring a variety of different settings.

The project page is already live on Steam, and for the Steam Fest, I’ve released a preliminary demo covering "Chapter 0", the Prologue.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4259720/BECOME_LIFE/

The game is localized in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese, and it includes gamepad support.
It is available for both Windows and macOS.

If you have some spare time, please feel free to give it a try! I would love to hear feedback from players so I can continue to improve the game. 😁

Thank you for your time! 🙏

I made a party brawler where heavy airships can't brake and only fire sideways. Up to 10 players over LAN or Steam

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I'm the solo dev of CloudBurst, and it just came out on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux.

The idea: your airship is heavy. It takes a while to get going, it never brakes and it keeps drifting after you let go. Cannons only fire out of the sides, so every fight is about pulling alongside someone who's trying to do the same to you.

  • Six modes: Survive, Deathmatch, Sumo, Checkpoints, Chase and Race
  • Three kinds of terrain: rock spires that shatter, minefields that chain-react, and bumpers that bounce your shots
  • Out of shells? Your cannons fire a wind blast that shoves ships and knocks shots away
  • A harpoon to drag rivals into the storm or swing yourself round a rock
  • Up to 10 players on a LAN or online with Steam invites, plus practice against bots
  • Paint your own ship, rewatch your matches, 40 achievements

I'd love to hear what you think, and I'm happy to answer anything about how it plays or how it was made.

Disclosure: the sound effects were made with AI audio tools, the achievement icons with an AI image model.
