My name is Joseph DeBell, and I’m a reporter with The Frederick News-Post.
I’m currently looking into reports of possible U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in downtown Frederick this morning, Tuesday, Oct. 27.
An earlier post in this subreddit described approximately eight individuals near West Third Street and College Avenue, including two reportedly wearing ICE insignia.
I’ve reached out to ICE, the Department of Homeland Security, the city of Frederick and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office to gather more information. So far, the reported activity has not been independently confirmed.
I’m hoping to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the activity firsthand or has additional information.
Specifically, I’m interested in hearing from anyone who:
Saw federal agents or vehicles in the area this morning.
Witnessed any interactions between agents and residents.
Has photographs, videos or security camera footage of the reported activity.
Can provide an approximate time or more precise location of the sighting.

Just a heads up there is a lady outside of the Trinity Recreational Center asking people if they want the local school board info while handing out orange ballots. Seems a bit disingenuous to sound a bit bipartisan while handing out stuff for the one side. Hopefully everyone shows up informed prior to showing up.

If that's the line you're going to take, then here's the deal:

Next Tuesday, Maryland will vote a shit-ton of people into political office, with real executive and legislative power.

If your argument is that it doesn't matter who gets entrusted with that power, then you have zero right to complain about anything they do for the remainder of their term.

I'm a long time collector and recently have been collecting box sets of old shows and movies. Stuff that was on early cartoon network or late night adult swim (the anime hours), like power puff girls, dragon ball z, avatar the last air bender etc. Or, just film buffs in general as i've been binging classic horror films recently. I'm hoping to maybe chat for a little on here, discord, instagram and maybe make a group and watch some of my DVDs together at the downtown library using my laptop. Doing an overnight girl’s trip to celebrate a friend’s 38th birthday on Sunday-Monday.

We have dinner booked but wondering if there are any downtown bars that have Sunday night events/music OR that have a good crowd on Sunday nights so we can stop by after dinner.

Hey all, looking for recommendations for Thanksgiving to-go meals from local Frederick restaurants. Preferably already cooked and able to pickup the day before Thanksgiving.

Dutch’s looks solid but it’s expensive for 4 people.
