News An idle clicker where you run a TV station broadcasting a war

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It’s an idle clicker where you run a TV station broadcasting a medieval war. You switch between cameras, jump into random soldiers’ bodycams, trigger ridiculous events and try to keep the viewers entertained. Basically, a lot of chaos.

Note: This is a polished prototype, but still a work in progress. Some features may change, and there's more to come!

News New resident in the garden!

She came. She crawled. She dreamed of becoming a butterfly. Unfortunately, the ants had other plans :) 🐜

A little moment from Garden of Ants, the ant colony RTS/sim we are working on.

Does the way she crawls look natural to you? Anything you'd change about her movement?

Best

Tomas

Promotion We’re Making a Narrative RPG Inspired by Hamlet and Disco Elysium UI, with 100,000 Words, 100 Hand-Drawn Illustrations, 20 Music Tracks, and 1 Original Song!

Hi everyone,

We are a small indie team focused on narrative-driven games. In our first game, Livber: Smoke and Mirrors, we made a visual novel built around a single interactive story. Now we are working on our second game, Kardiya: The Winds of Fate, and this time we are trying to make something bigger, longer, and more replayable.

The story of Kardiya is inspired by Hamlet. Our young noble protagonist’s father is murdered by his own uncle, and the story revolves around family, power, uncovering the truth, and revenge. While still a child, our protagonist is forced to flee the palace and leave his noble life behind. We follow his journey from childhood to adulthood, as he struggles to survive, grow, and eventually confront the fate of his family.

The game currently features around 100,000 words, 100 hand-drawn illustrations, 20 music tracks, 1 original song, and countless ways to experience the story depending on your choices. The game is still in development. If it sounds interesting, feel free to check out our Steam page.

Thank you ^^

Promotion New trailer for Hive Haven, a cozy beekeeping tycoon 🐝

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone!

I'm the solo developer of Hive Haven, a cozy first-person beekeeping tycoon. (kind of)

To tell about the game : you start small, with an empty hive, buy or breed a Queen, and then start increasing your apiary by selling the goods.

With the money, you buy upgrades/research, plots of land, and expand more of your honey empire.

I've updated the Steam page, and I remade the trailer.

The demo is currently being prepared for the release, and I'm looking for people to test the demo before publishing it.

Any piece of advice is greatly received. Thank you for reading this!

Promotion We made a horror game about being the family breadwinner for a game jam, and Filipino streamers took it past 100,000 plays

Hi! I'm one of the devs behind Breadwinner (I did the 3D art).

It started as our entry to the Filipino Horror Game Jam 2026. The theme was "Real Life Horror," and our first reaction was: bills. So you play the eldest child and the only one with a job. Each payday you pick what gets paid, then come home to what you couldn't afford.

Seven of us made it in two weeks of spare time. It placed #1 in Creativity and #1 in Story out of 40 entries.

Then streamers and YouTubers picked it up, Patrick Santos and Kristian PH among them. Videos of it have passed 3.9 million views, and the itch.io page has passed 100,000 plays.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em8793R80N8

The part that got us most: over 2,300 players left a message for the breadwinners in their own lives at the end of the game, and a lot of people said it felt like their own family.

It's free in your browser on PC or phone, in English or Filipino. Link in the comments.

Already played? Which family member did you spend on the most?

Promotion I made a tower defense game where keeping the egg (main tower) alive is only half the goal

In Demon Egg, you use cards to build an army around a demon egg while enemies try to destroy it.

But surviving isn’t enough. You need to save resources to hatch the egg and finish the run. The same resources buy your defenses, so you’re constantly deciding whether to strengthen the army or keep saving.

I’m the solo developer, and the full game is out now on Steam.

Promotion My psychological horror game is 50% off for Steam Scream Fest V!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I released my indie psychological horror game, Panic Files: Buried Sanity, about a month ago, and it's now 50% off during Steam Scream Fest V!

It's a short, 1-hour first-person horror game designed to be played in one sitting. So if you're interested in indie horror games for Halloween, here is mine.

You start your first day working in a local mine, but things take a turn for the worse when the mine suddenly collapses, trapping you underground. After a falling rock knocks you unconscious, you wake up alone with no clear way out.

Your only option is to go deeper into the tunnels and discover why the other miners were so afraid of the depths.

If that sounds like your kind of game, you can check it out here:

Happy Halloween!

Devlog We added a strategic view to our automation game, Factomancer.

Factomancer is a factory-automation roguelite where you build production lines to meet the quotas of a mysterious Order.

Once your factory grows, the screen gets so busy it’s hard to tell what’s going on, so we added a strategic view that strips the scene down: obstacles become black cubes, decorations disappear, and each machine shows its efficiency and current status right above it.

We also added production rates of the recipes: the max throughput of each machine, and the input rate you need to hit 100% efficiency.

Finally, we redesigned some machines and our belt animation to improve readability overall!

Promotion Made a cozy lil game where cats run a café on your desktop

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Me and my friends are making Cat Caffeine, a game where you run a little cat café right on your desktop 🐱☕

You can decorate your café, hire cats, unlock upgrades, pet your cats (very important), and watch your little business grow while you work or do other stuff on your PC.

We're also adding an in-game phone where you can read reviews from your cat customers, complete decoration tasks to attract reviewers, and even use a Pomodoro timer to help you focus while working!

Basically, a little café full of cats keeping you company while you do your thing.

It's a physics-based puzzle game called Pathi and it's currently available for Android and iOS. The goal is to build the level by placing different type of blocks in order to create a path and send the ball to the goal.

A lot of users were asking for more content so I decided to make this update after some time

News what indie games actually made you go "oh shit, i wasn't expecting that"

i'm talking about those random moments where a small game just hits different than you thought it would. like a mechanic that breaks your brain in the best way, or a story beat that genuinely caught you off guard. curious what games people weren't ready for.

Promotion Two brain scientists making a psychological horror game with lucid-dreaming inspired mechanics

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My partner and I are researchers in HCI and Biomedical Engineering which involves analysing brain signals for fields like epilepsy and lucid dreaming.

At the same time, we've been developing LunaGenesis, a first person psychological horror game set in a town of rats beset by plague, where you enter the dreams of the dying to uncover what its theocratic rulers are hiding.

If you've ever had a lucid dream, you'll know it's when you know you're dreaming, while you're dreaming. This can allow you to better control what happens in the dream, though sometimes the realisation causes you to wake up. So we thought lucidity could make for an interesting resource system, where more lucidity gives you more power, but can also cause you to wake up if you overfill.

We also implemented 'reality checks', which lucid dreamers actually use to check if they are awake or asleep, often using a physical or physics-based check, like the classic pinching yourself to see if you feel pain or trying to manipulate an object and seeing if it responds with realistic physics. In our game, reality checks allow you to re-fill your lucidity resource.

The choice to depict rats is also influenced by our experience with rat experimentation for epilepsy research, which we have come to criticise, and even adopted two pet rats of our own. Photos of our rats were even used to texture our characters!

Our game has strong themes of disease, mortality, experimentation and horror. We invite players to hold a mirror up to their own lives and hopefully identify overlaps in our depiction of restricted access to information and technology, and how it can have direct impacts on society and health.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on dreams and the mechanics they offer for a horror game :)

Discussion Controller players, what do you do when a game has no built in controller remapping?

We recently added ingame key rebinding after asking you all about different keyboard layouts. Now we're looking into controller rebinding.

If you want to change your controller buttons but a game doesn't have its own remapping menu, what do you usually do? Do you remap the buttons through steam input or stick with the default controls? or just skip the game if the controls dont work for you?

Also, how many of you actually tinker with steam input's configurations? I'd love to hear how you use it, like whether you find it easy enough to use.

Discussion Indie games are at their best when they build the entire experience around one clever idea

I honestly think a memorable mechanic or a strong atmosphere can do more for an indie game than a massive amount of content ever could.

A game where every missed shot makes the next encounter harder immediately gives your actions more weight. A psychological horror game that makes you uncomfortable without constantly throwing jumpscares at you can stick in your head for days. Even something built around the fear of deep water can be terrifying if it understands exactly what makes that fear work.

That's what I love about indie games. Smaller teams can take one unusual idea and commit to it instead of trying to appeal to absolutely everyone.

I'd rather play a short game with a mechanic I've never experienced before than another 40-hour game that feels like everything I've already played.
