( EDIT: Thank you so much for sharing your perspectives. Some were practical, some were emotional, and some were a blend of both. Reading your responses genuinely changed how I looked at things.
I thought the world was becoming more cruel, but this thread reminded me that there are still good people out there. Some of you gave me perspectives that convinced me to reconsider my decision, and I'm grateful for that.
I won't be bringing up this question again. Thank you for taking the time to respond and helping me see things differently.)
Men of this sub, I'm curious to hear your perspectives on something.
I come from a tier 4-5 town with limited exposure to dating and socialising with women. I'm not someone who can't approach women. I've approached girls at the gym and even become friends with some of them. It's more that my social life is limited, and I can't really go out without having a reason to.
I'm 22 M and still a virgin. I've asked older women in my family for advice, and their response was to get employed first and then explore dating. I understand their point, but loneliness doesn't exactly wait for you to get your career sorted.
Lately, I've been considering visiting the red-light district around Grant Road. Part of it is curiosity, part of it is wanting to experience intimacy, and part of it is simply feeling lonely. I'm aware that people visit these places for different reasons, but I'm unsure whether it's actually worth experiencing.
I'm not looking for the usual warnings about STDs, scams or robbery. I'm more interested in the psychological side of things. Does the experience actually satisfy the desire for intimacy, or can you end up feeling just as lonely afterwards?
Men who've visited such places, seriously considered going, or decided against it, what was your reasoning? Did the experience change your perspective on sex or intimacy? And for those who chose not to go, what made you reconsider?
I'm genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives, especially from men who've experienced something similar. No moral lectures, please. I'd rather hear honest experiences than generic advice.
