Ryan Yates, now 25, was in November sentenced to a maximum of two years jail for recording six women without their consent, using AI to create child abuse material and soliciting pictures from an underage girl.
Judge Helen Wilson said Yates was a "high-risk of committing a further sexual crime" and had a "deviant sexual interest" when she ordered he spend a minimum of eight months in jail and placed him on the child protection register for eight years.
Yates was released on a Commonwealth recognizance order, like a good behaviour bond, in July this year.
But the 25-year-old was arrested earlier this month after police allege he exposed himself and stalked a number of girls at Maryland.
Yates was charged with wilful and obscene exposure near a public place or school, convicted child sex offender loiter near public place, three counts of stalking, failing to comply with the reporting obligations of the child protection register and negligent driving.
Police allege Yates was at Maryland about 3.45pm on October 16 when he exposed himself and stalked three girls.
He was arrested and represented himself in a bail division court the next day, when he made an unsuccessful bid to be released on bail.
Yates has not entered any pleas and will next appear in Newcastle Local Court on Monday, when he is expected to apply for bail again.
The alleged fresh offences occurred less than three months after Yates was released from jail onto the recognizance order on July 20.
Over the next 13 minutes, he recorded six women while they were using the toilet inside a cubicle and attempted to record a seventh woman.
As well as those voyeurism offences, Yates was using messaging applications to solicit child abuse material and an AI generator to produce about 60 images of young girls in various states of undress.
In May 2024, he began communicating with a person who said they were a 14-year-old girl, attempting to convince the girl to send him pictures of herself.
When the girl sent an image of herself, Yates replied with a picture of himself, completely naked.
He was arrested on May 9 and initially charged with filming one woman in the UON bathroom before police examined his phone and laid more charges.
A forensic psychologist found a nexus between Yates's mental health issues and the offending, but also said he posed a "high risk of re-offending".
Judge Wilson said Yates had a strong subjective case, but the offences were serious and his future dangerousness had to play a role in sentencing.
"How many women have to be exposed to this kind of conduct? Judge Wilson said.
"How many other children have to be approached online?"
