Fallout 4 Hear me out... catgirls

• Upvotes

\NOTE: Reddit sent an automated) "People are loving this post! Share it to this other sub!" message, and despite it sitting at zero upvotes it got a lot of views and comments so I guess they want the engagement so here goes.\)

It occurred to me that the possibility for lore-friendly catgirls in the Commonwealth exists due to the Nuka-World DLC. In the Safari Adventure section of the park, there is a machine that clones any animal you can give it DNA samples from and can (and does, to very detrimental effect with the Gatorclaws) blend two species to create a hybrid.

Cats and humans both exist in Fallout 4's setting. There is no stated reason the machine shouldn't work on human DNA considering that humans are in fact animals and it's freaking Fallout, you can't tell me there's some kind of ethical lockout built into the machine to prohibit it. The scientists involved probably just died before they got around to human experimentation, that's all. There should be nothing stopping the player character from creating whatever man-made horrors beyond comprehension they choose.

In fact, I would bet a million caps that if the Pack gang were in control of that park and had the brains to think of it and to operate the machine, among the first things they'd do is make a whole menagerie of animal-human hybrid freaks.

What they'd then do with them is best left never known...

New Fallout Game Idea

This from someone not on Reddit: we play as people stranded on the moon. In the intro we see the bombs hit. We have to survive, fight for resources and try to make a way home/ terraform.

Fallout 3 Happy Birthday to my favorite game of all time!

I’ll never forget the feeling of leaving Vault 101 for the first time and realizing I had an entire wasteland to explore…more importantly, at my own pace!

My favorite moment in gaming.

I’d love to hear everyone’s favorite memory from playing Fallout 3!

Hopefully we get that remake soon 🤞🏾

Fallout 76 What should I be doing?

I’m not a new player (though still just a baby) but very VERY far off from being any sort of veteran player. I’m only a level 41 and have on and off played for about 2 years.

I love Fallout games and 76 is generally pretty great too. My main gripe, as I’ve just redownloaded to get back into it, is every time I start it up, I am bombarded with objectives, missions, and events. My tab will have like 4 random active missions with words that fill up nearly half the right side of my screen, then I open the map and I have no idea where anything is or where I’m supposed to go. It also doesn’t help that I’ve left missions unfinished so my map just feels messy and all over the place.

I want to get into the grind but every time I load up, I feel like I’m not exactly where I left off as new content releases and they just pile it onto me. Now to be fair, my time away from the game is obviously a me problem, rather than the games problem. However, I simply just don’t know what I should be doing and how to get started again.

Some might say just go do whatever, but with the amount of content dumped into the game, it’s hard to get a grasp on a good starting point to get into the flow. Is there a main quest line I should be following?

At this point in the games cycle, help me figure out where to start.

Also just any pointers in general would be great.

Question What gun should I give Clover? Spoiler

So I’m playing on hard mode, and Seargent RL-3 keeps GETTING DESTROYED, and I’m not even going up against Super Mutants yet 😑

So I decided to get Clover back, I shot up Fort Independence to get her some Power Armor so that she doesn’t die as much.

I actually don’t like the outcast Power Armor for her, but if it makes her more survivable, then I can go to the D.C. Ruins and get some Brotherhood of Steel Power Armor off of a dead soldier

Back when she was my follower, I gave her The Terrible Shotgun

Big. Mistake.

She broke it, and went back to her sawed off shotgun

That’s when I started checking on the condition of the weapons I give her REGULARLY, whenever I needed her to carry something, but there were still times it would break in combat

She really liked that shotgun

So anyway, this time around, I decided to not give her special weapons that you can’t replace.

I’m going to give her a Shishkabab for incase we run out of ammo, cuz that happens

Discussion I'm Getting REAL Warm on the Idea of Vehicles..

I used to be hesitant on the idea of personalized vehicles in Fallout. But as time goes on, I think it would be such a natural evolution of exploration in a Fallout game.

It's a little Mad Max-esque and a much better way to take your inventory on the go.

Discussion Maybe a Hot Take: Tactical Armor Belongs in Fallout.

Thumbnail

I know how this might sound, but I'm not necessarily talking about modern tacticool armor. I'm talking about more on the lines of something like Retro Tactical. For example, The 1950s Future Soldier concept, it seems like it would be the Perfect blend of Tactical and Retro. And Fallout already has Tactical Armors, such as the Fallout 76 Brotherhood Special Ops Armor. Tactical Armors can Exist in fallout but they just have to be done right and in a way that makes sense. Like, in my head cannon, Bulletproof Vests and Plate Carriers are used heavily in the post war America because of how Mass producible they are amongst the Post War Powers.

I actually really like Dead Money. The weapons and armor you get are pretty dang neat (in a more grounded feeling, non-op kind of way), it has my favorite cast of characters in all of the DLCs, and the story is one I consider one of the best in the game.

Really, it's a toss up on which one takes the number 1 spot for best DLC, Dead Money or Lonesome Road.

[Stayed up until 3:30 am making this. It's not the drawing itself (though, deciding on the poses and the embarrassing amount of reworks I had to do didn't help), but the spacing, color balance and all the technical stuff I'm not a huge fan of. Fortunately, unlike other projects I took too long on, I kinda like how this one turned out.]

Fallout 3 Tips for making money in Fallout 3 Spoiler

So i like a challenge, I don’t like it when the game is too easy, so I’m playing on hard mode rn, and I feel like I can’t save up caps to save my LIFE

I have Raider Badlands armor as a backup for if the condition on my combat armor gets too bad while I’m traveling, but I still have to

  1. Buy Combat armor from Moria for the road
  2. Pay her to repair it so I can repair it better for the road
  3. Buy ammo
  4. Buy combat shotguns to repair my Terrible Shotgun for the road, as well as other guns I use that I can’t remember the names of
  5. Pay to have THOSE repaired so I don’t have to resort to using Hunting Rifles

It all adds up, and even tho I grab anything of worth and sell it, and she’s still usually left broke, I can’t save up enough to decorate my house :/

I grab scrap metal to give them to the guy who repairs the water purifier whenever possible, I buy and grab sugar bombs for the ghoul dude for his ultra jet, collect Nuka Cola Quantum for the gal who’s obsessed with it, I feel like I’m doing everything I can, and it’s just not enough

I will lower the difficulty if I have to… but that’s BORING, and I really don’t want to

I don’t have the one building where the Brotherhood of Steel is yet to give them Pre-War books

I have Seargent RL-3 as my follower, so I don’t have to give him Stimpacks, he heals after each fight if he doesn’t get destroyed. So saving money on Stimpacks that way.

Discussion I genuinely don't think there's a single truly bad Fallout game

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely believe every Fallout game has something worth appreciating, even the most criticized ones.

From the classic isometric games like Fallout 1 and 2, to Fallout 3 and New Vegas, to the more divisive Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, and even the criticized Brotherhood of Steel, to the long forgotten Tatics, I think every entry has something that makes it worthwhile in its own way your money and your time, if you are really willing to do it with an open mind.

Obviously, I'm not blind to the fact they're all equally good or that criticism isn't justified. Every game has flaws, questionable design decisions, missed opportunities, and things that could have been done better. I even agree with quite a few of the criticisms people make about certain entries, after all this opinion comes from a Fallout fan who loves to death Fallout 4, Fallout new vegas and Fallout 2 for its own reasons (and genuinely i just cant decide my favorite between the 3, because all of them are my top one for its own reasons).

But sometimes, I feel like SOME PEOPLE (NOT EVERYONE, I HAVE TO MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR BECAUSE I WAS ALREADY CRITICIZED FOR THIS BEFORE) inside Fallout community can be a little too harsh on some of these games.

Fallout 4 for example, gets criticized for its dialogue system, simplified RPG mechanics, and changes to the formula, but it also offers fantastic exploration, environmental storytelling, gunplay, settlement building, and an incredible amount of replayability, and i need to say, even in its own vanilla game, specially in its survival mode (i have about 2000 hours on it, and half of these hours are un-modded)

Fallout 76 had a pretty rough launch and plenty of legitimate problems, but the updates over the years have made it a much more enjoyable experience, and there's something special about exploring the wasteland with other people, and even if i coudn't play that much after all these years (i only have them on ps4, and honestly i just cant habdlenthe fact that i have to pay to play online) the limited amount of hours i've had with this game, i truly had some fun investing my time on it

Even the older games have their own techinal limitations, but their atmosphere, writing, worldbuilding, and role-playing possibilities are still fantastic, like my favorite older games, Fallout 2 and Fallout new vegas: both have its own technical limitations? Sure. Controls can be a little janky at times? Of course, but still its storytelling, environment, mecanics and such a lot of other things make them one of best games of my ENTIRE LIFE

And honestly, one of the things I love most about Fallout is the modding community. Whether it's restoring cut content, improving mechanics, adding quests, changing the gameplay, or simply making the game more comfortable to play, mods can help you tailor the experience to your preferences. Community-made content has also given games like Fallout 4 even more reasons to revisit them in one of the things i agree in some parts with the community, that is the lore inside the game (FEVer Dreams managed to make Fallout 4 a game with better story, with more lore depth).

And that's before even mentioning the TV series, which has its own charm and has introduced the franchise to a whole new audience, and yes, in my opinion, season 2 can not have the same charm such as season 1, but i still think it have a fun and interesting story to tell in this universe.

Personally, I enjoy pretty much every era of Fallout. I can appreciate the old-school isometric RPGs, spend hundreds of hours in Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and then jump into Fallout 4 or 76 without feeling like I'm betraying what the franchise used to be.

I don't think every Fallout game is a masterpiece. I just think there's a difference between a flawed game and a genuinely bad one.

Sometimes, I wonder if certain entries would be judged a little more fairly if people focused on what they actually bring to the franchise instead of only comparing them to their favorite Fallout, and again, its not everyone on the community, it is about some people that i think its insuferable in some kind of way, im not blind to what people complain about all games, i see the good and bad points of all Fallout media, and honestly, liking all of them by specific reasons don't make me someone with low or no standards.

I'm genuinely interested in hearing different opinions. You don't have to agree with me, because in the end, opinions are all subjective, but personally, im 100% certain that i'll die on this hill.

I feel like Gunners were suppose to be an evil militarized faction that you can be part of, I mean they had ranks, military discipline, main base and enough firepower that they almost conquered the Boston and they were the main reason why Minute men were wiped out.

It's like they had vision for the Gunners but they replaced them with Brotherhood and the Nuka-world raiders

The chest and pauldrons are finished, unfortunately I couldnt find a solution towards making the ocular, along with the piping that makes up the helmet, as i dont have as much time to put stuff like that, along with shopping. High school really doesnt like it when you have personal plans😭😭😭

The helmet went through a plan, but the rest is kind of me bullshitting it as I dont have all the resources to actually make a big looking power armor.

Now, for the paint job.. is what i wonder. Ill let you guys decide what type of color I should make it. Maybe something not over complicated as I dont have all that time to create a nuka cola power armor, as much as that would be absolutely fucking sick!

Original Content A sneak peak at what I’ll be handing out that year at goodsprings!!

Post image
100 Upvotes

All of these are made by me, and will be handed out in very limited quantities while I’m visiting Mojave Mayhem 2026! Here’s an overview of each book:

The Deseret Cookbook: a cozy magazine of delicious(?) home-cooked recipes compiled by the head Mormon chef of a budding Utah settlement

How To Stop Being Dog-Ass at Caravan: self explanatory. A Caravan for dummies style book that holds the hand of the reader through the intricacies of the card game no one knows how to play

The Followers Field Manual for Disease: A meticulous medical document giving overviews of the symptoms, treatment, and prognosis of all of the diseases from Fallout 76 and more!!

The Legion Reclamation Campaign: A short military scouting report that ties into the lore of the Fallout TV show, outlining how Legate Lanius’ forces plan to re-take territory of a legion fort that defected and pledged allegiance to the Lacerta Legate (Macaulay Culkin’s character).

I’ve put well over a hundred hours into each of these books, so I’m very excited to show them to the world. They are all meticulously researched to be lore friendly, entertaining, and as factual as possible! I’ll be handing these out for caps/bartering (NO PREWAR MONEY ACCEPTED) at Junc Alley. So if you see a big and tall girl in a followers of the apocalypse coat, that’s probably me!!

I’ve been playing the game with these new add-ons and I’m really enjoying them. I had seen this one available for purchase, but I assumed it was just some random backpack—until I found out it’s voiced by the original voice actor for the Mr. Gutsys! I love those characters, and I love the things he says from time to time; he’s way cooler than the standard backpacks—I love him! Also, could someone tell me how to put a Nuka-Cola Victory in his backpack? I saw that in the add-on’s promotional banners and I’d love to be able to do that.
