Thoughts on Zereoue Williams?
The 2027 tackle class has two premier prospects at the top, Trevor Goosby and Jordan Seaton. A player who can potentially be the third-best at the position is Utah's Zereoue Williams. Williams has finally gotten the chance to be a starter in his sixth collegiate season. He's been excellent in pass protection and has real upside as a run blocker. There are injury concerns, and he is an older prospect. I wanted to ask what y'all's thoughts are on Williams as a prospect and if you believe he can be a first-round pick in April.

Discussion Breaking News: QB Dante Moore out the rest of the season!
Coming into the season, Moore had legitimate first-round buzz, with some projecting him as a potential top-five pick. Missing the rest of the year means NFL teams have less recent tape to evaluate, and there will inevitably be questions about where he stands heading into the draft.
On the other hand, his talent hasn't suddenly disappeared. If teams still believe in his arm talent, decision-making and long-term potential, one season-ending setback doesn't automatically erase that.
But does this change his plans? Does he still enter the draft and take his chances, or does he return to Oregon, get healthy, and give himself another opportunity to improve his stock?
Returning to college could make sense, but it also comes with its own risks. At some point, you have to weigh the potential of improving your draft position against the uncertainty of another season.

The Day 2 Guys - Week 8 Stock Up College Football Players
Hi everyone! Here's my weekly column on players that have shined this past week. There are a couple of recent draft twitter favorites included on here, and yes they should absolutely be favorites. Please feel free to drop by in the comments and suggest some players that you love that are getting under-appreciated. As always, the full article is below, but the link to the SubStack is here and I'd love for anyone to like or subscribe as it is free and just fun for me to write about. All the best!
Tobi Osunsanmi, EDGE, Indiana Univ. - Senior - “Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he’s really not a part of our family. Also, he’s divorced, so he’s really not a part of his family.” - Michael Scott from The Office
Since we have a player named Tobi in this Stock Up article, I thought it appropriate to include one of Michael’s best quotes about his arch-nemesis, Toby, from the beloved (by me) show The Office.
Tobi Osunsanmi is one of the few defenders that I have highlighted this season, as I tend to have more information in-season on offensive skill players. Osunsanmi has produced 4 sacks the last two weeks against the toughest competition he will face all year. Osunsanmi had 2 sacks against Ohio State Univ. and 2 more this week against the Univ. of Michigan. Osunsanmi’s second sack this past weekend was extremely impressive as he blew by the Michigan RT with speed and then bent around the corner to sack Tommy Carr.
Osunsanmi, like many players, has had an interesting developmental path to land where he is today. He was a consensus 4-star recruit out of Kansas despite only having 5 offers. He committed to in-state Kansas State to be an off-ball linebacker after playing all over the field on defense in high school. Osunsanmi was playing at 210 pounds in high school and ran extremely fast 100 meter numbers (10.85 in the 100 meter in HS).
Once Osunsanmi enrolled at Kansas State, the staff asked him to bulk up and transition to EDGE during his Redshirt-Freshman season. Slowly, Osunsanmi played more and more until he started for Kansas State in 2025. Despite getting hurt and being out half of the season, Osunsanmi played very well and was their most impactful defender. Osunsanmi then parlayed that to transfer and use his last year of eligibility at a new home that could coach him into an NFL-ready player. Fast forward to this season, and Osunsanmi has shown he can be that speed rusher for your team. He has 9 sacks this season, and they aren’t coming against bad teams/players. He has 7 straight games with a sack dating all the way back to Indiana’s second game of the season (1 sack vs. Howard University).
Players of Osunsanmi’s stature (6’ 2” / 250 pounds) generally get dismissed as not being three-down players because of limited strength and length, but from what I’ve seen, he is able to play the run well enough to stay on the field. In fact, in many cases that I have watched, he is making plays in the backfield on run plays and holding his ground against big tackles. He will always have a bit of a harder time than bigger, longer ends, but at least he is playable for all three downs. The pass rush upside is immense because of how new he is to the position. There is more upside to tap into, and that’s saying something coming from someone who is second in sacks in all of the FBS (1 behind leader Colin Simmons).
I am curious where national draft analysts will put him after this year, as the sample size isn’t all that large and he’s a late breakout. Keep in mind that had he been playing EDGE for longer, we probably would have seen him break out a year or two earlier. This happens all the time, and being a late breakout doesn’t always mean they are older than other prospects and therefore, better. In this case, Osunsanmi just needed to find a position and feel comfortable in the role in order to thrive, and boy is he thriving!
James Jones, RB, New Mexico State Univ. - Redshirt Senior - Jones is a well-traveled man. He’s spent 5 years at 4 different places trying to climb the dreaded ladder of relevancy. Jones has officially arrived on my map, and should be talked about as an NFL draft prospect in the offseason, even if it’s towards the back end of the draft. Jones, who played two years at Garden City Community College in Kansas, then transferred to the Univ. of Louisiana Monroe where he oddly enough shared a backfield with highly-esteemed running back Ahmad Hardy in 2024. Both Hardy and Jones transferred out of the program, and Jones decided to go to Delaware State Univ. where he shined as a play-making running back for the Hornets.
In 2025 with DSU, Jones recorded 98 carries / 958 yards / 9 touchdowns (9.8 yards per carry). Now, after another transfer - this time to New Mexico State, Jones has put himself firmly on draft radars as he has been one of the best running backs in football.
In 2026, Jones has 119 carries / 777 yards / 4 touchdowns (6.5 ypc). He also has 8 receptions / 50 yards / 1 touchdown. His rushing total is good for 14th most in the FBS this year, and only two players with more yards have fewer carries than Jones does which means that Jones’s efficiency is fantastic even with the volume he is receiving.
Jones is a taller back at 6’ 1” / 205 pounds and he does run a bit more upright than the typical running back as a result, but he’s got burst through the hole and good vision to make plays for any NFL team. Jones has the added bonus of creating missed tackles because of his size. Defenders bounce off of him, and he has a really nice stiff arm that he applies regularly. Jones doesn’t have much receiving work in his three seasons at the FBS level, so that is something he will have to prove he can do when he’s on the college showcase at the end of the season.
Jackson Harris, WR, Louisiana State Univ. - Redshirt Junior - I had a sneaky suspicion that Harris was going to be the best offensive player for LSU this year. I saw his transfer film one evening on YouTube from his time at Hawaii and came away very impressed by how easily he moved at his size. It’s a total crapshoot trying to figure out how well players are going to play when they transfer up. I thought the same thing about Isiah Canion at Georgia this year and he’s barely gotten on the field.
Harris has been otherworldly the past few weeks for LSU after putting up very nice numbers for the Rainbow Warriors. After only recording 5 catches through the first 3 games of the season, Harris has 31 more over the last 5 games.
His totals for the year are: 36 receptions / 634 yards / 7 TDs. He has 17.6 yards per reception and a 41-yard passing touchdown as well. These are very good numbers for a player who made his way over to the SEC from the Mountain West.
Harris started out as a soccer player in high school who arrived on the football scene halfway through high school. He broke a finger his junior season before having the best receiver season in the state of California in 2022. That led to several D-1 offers including Stanford Univ. where he committed and played sparingly for two years. Harris then transferred to Hawaii in 2025 and blossomed with Micah Alejado at QB. Harris then parlayed an almost 1,000 yard season into a dream fit as the primary target in Lane Kiffin’s excellent offensive system.
Standing 6’ 2” tall and 205 pounds, Harris is an ideal X-receiver at the next level. He’s got the speed on the outside to win vertically, and has excellent ball skills. Harris’s best trait to me is his long speed. He is never caught from behind and has made a habit of turning plays into long touchdowns. This season Harris has produced touchdowns of 41 yards (Miss. State), 57 yards (Texas A&M), and 70 yards (Auburn). Last year at Hawaii, Harris led all of college football with 5 catches of 60+ yards. 5! - Absolutely insane for any level of football. Harris has the goods and should be an early NFL draft pick should he come out after this year.
Dylan Riley, RB, Boise State Univ. - Junior - Riley might be the buzziest name on the NFL Draft radar right now. After a solid sophomore season, Riley has emerged as one of the darlings of the NFL Draft twitter-verse the last couple of weeks. So much so, that I have seen analysts ranking him as high as the RB2 in the 2027 draft class behind Jadan Baugh. I dove into some tape to see if those lofty rankings are legit or not. I had seen highlights here and there and was impressed, but I went ahead and watched for myself after another standout performance this weekend against Washington State Univ.
Riley has a turbo button that not many running backs have - in high school he ran a 10.74 second 100-meter dash which is absolutely blazing. That track speed is on display every week. Riley has four rushes for 70+ yards this season, and his speed is a major reason for his incredible junior season. While he is smaller-sized, at 5’ 10” / 203 pounds, the lighter frame helps him burst through holes and accelerate. Players who are going to succeed at the next level need to have calling cards to their games, and for Riley - speed is that card. Riley leads all of the FBS in rushing with 963 yards on 140 carries. He has 6.9 yards per carry to go along with 12 receptions / 125 yards / 1 touchdown.
Riley is not a one-trick pony, however. After gaining 10 pounds this offseason, Riley has showcased much more power in his game and is one of the leading missed tackles forced runners in the country. This past week he forced 9 missed tackles, and earlier this year against Memphis, he forced 13 missed tackles. Riley is absolutely legit, and will be picked in the top-60 of this NFL Draft if he declares.
Riley will need to continue to work on his blocking acumen, but as I’ve stated many times, that’s something that takes reps and time. Most running backs eventually figure out how to protect.
Looking back at Week 7 players that were highlighted:
Last week I focused on most of the Houston Cougars offensive players before their big game against Utah. While the Cougars lost and only scored 13 points in a very tough environment to play in, the players on offense still had nice nights.
Conner Weigman (Houston QB) - 19-35 passing (54.3 completion %) for 282 yards and 1 fumble lost - Despite scoring only 13 points and having his worst completion percentage of the year, Weigman held his own in a really difficult situation. Utah had only surrendered more than 282 yards in the air once (against Kansas - most of which happened in the 4th quarter in somewhat garbage time). I’m still bullish on Weigman despite the loss.
Amare Thomas (Houston WR) - 5 receptions / 133 yards / 0 touchdowns - Thomas made a mockery of the Utah cornerbacks and was the player of the game for Houston. Thomas has continued to deliver all season for the Cougars and will be a fun player next season in the NFL.
Patrick Overmyer (Houston TE) - 1 reception / 0 yards - Unfortunately, Overmyer looked to get a likely concussion on the first drive of the game. He was sorely missed as one of Weigman’s favorite targets this year. Hopefully he is ok, and won’t be affected by the head injury.
Makhi Hughes (Houston RB) and Re’Shaun Sanford II (Houston RB) - 22 carries / 59 yards / 1 touchdown and 3 receptions / 29 yards (combined) - Hughes took the bulk of the carries in the game (19) and was completely bottled up while Sanford had 23 of the receiving yards. Utah’s defense suffocated the Houston running game as they also only allowed Weigman to have 20 yards rushing as well. Great job by Utah’s run defense.

Discussion How much did Dre Kirkpatrick's recent legal trouble hurt his draft position?
The Bama DB was [arrested for doxxing](http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/01/more_details_on_dre_kirkpatric.html). He was just dismissed from the team. How much is this going to hurt him?
Would you still draft him with your team's first pick?
Where you think he will go?

Discussion Who is WR2 of this draft?
For me I’m going to have to say KJ Duff but I’ve been seeing a lot of Cam Coleman and Charlie Becker.
Coleman this season has been disappointing frankly and while a lot of that is on Arch he’s also not really impressed me and he’s had some bad drops/misses.
Charlie Becker is getting a lot of hype and he’s good but I think if we’re talking WR2 of the draft, I don’t think he’s worth a top 10. When I watch him play he disappears a lot in 3rd and long situations, when you press man, he’s like Elijah Sarrat on the ravens right now. Still really good and WR3 but I don’t think he’s better than duff.
What I think is really impressive with Duff is pretty much every defense knows the ball is going to him, he’s the one of the only good players on his team, and yet he still manages to completely ball and make plays.

What the Colts potentially becoming trade deadline sellers means for the Jets' 2027 draft draft capital
With the trade deadline approaching and Indianapolis sitting at 2-5 following Chris Ballard’s firing, all signs point to the Colts potentially pivoting into seller mode down the stretch.
For the Jets, who hold Indy’s 2027 1st-round pick from the Sauce Gardner trade, a full Colts tear-down/fire sale is the best-case scenario for draft positioning. When the trade went down last year, Indy was 7-2 and pushing for a deep run. As we sit here today, that trade has already given the Jets AD Mitchell and Kenyon Sadiq. If the Colts deal away veterans at the deadline and commit to a late-season teardown, that selection has serious top-5 potential.
With the Jets loss to MIA, they should seriously consider selling at the deadline as well, to lock in two potential top 5 or top 10 picks.
Combined with the Cowboys' pick (#11 currently), the Jets could land three picks in the top 10 in the 2027 NFL draft.
https://x.com/PlayDraftLabs/status/2114699872171368652?s=20
A couple of questions for discussion:
- For Draft/Jets fans: If Indy falls into the top 5, does NYJ look to package two of these picks to move up for a franchise QB, or stay put and build a foundational core with three premium talents? I would personally stay up and draft 3 premier players instead of packaging picks.
- For draft evaluators: How high do you realistically think this Indy pick settles by season’s end if they sell off at the deadline?

Arch Manning has changed my views on draft analysts
Like everyone else, when I saw Arch play his debut drive I thought 'wow this kid has got something'. When I saw him cover for an injured Ewers I thought 'if he cleans some of these bad habits up with more reps as a starter, he's going to be a 1st round pick'. Then he became a starter, and he never cleaned up those habits, in fact, his throwing action and footwork got worse. The way he stares down receivers creates interceptions. His arm isn't difference makingly good. He is a season and a half deep into his career as the starter, and at no point have I had him pegged as a first rounder, much less a top 10 pick. He would either need to pull a Joe Burrow and have a generational 2nd half of the season, or play another year and take a big step forward before I could put him in the 1st round on a draft board.
However he has been lauded perennially as a top prospect. There is a divorce between how he has played and the media pieces on him. I genuinely don't think McShay watches college football at all given the way he's covered Arch. I am also disappointed with the fact NFLSE had him leading the QB board all season until now. What did he do to earn that at any stage last season or this? At least they're fun to watch I suppose.
Arch didn't wake up 3 weeks ago and start giving up stupid turnovers and staring at receivers like they're showing generational side boob. He has been that guy the whole time. I thought draft media actually watched games, Arch is teaching me I might be wrong.

[Pete Thamel] Sources: Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury against Ole Miss on Saturday. Goosby is the country’s top NFL prospect at left tackle, as ESPN’s Field Yates ranked him the No. 8 pick in his most recent mock draft.

Discussion Realistic Draft Comps for the 2027 QB Class
Note: I did my best to pick QBs that I think these college prospects will end up as in the NFL.
Arch Manning --> Paxton Lynch. Athletic with a talented arm, but very raw, with especially poor processing. Will not translate to the NFL.
Dante Moore --> Zach Wilson. Fast release of the football, but very poor throwing mechanics. Will not translate to the NFL.
CJ Carr --> Davis Mills. Can be a good game manager as a pocket passer, but will struggle under pressure. Will not translate to the NFL as a starter, but will probably be a solid backup.
Darian Mensah --> Teddy Bridgewater. Great at processing short to medium length passes, but weak arm strength causes incompletions vs better secondaries. Will only translate to the NFL as a backup/bridge starter.
Drew Mestemaker --> Gardner Minshew. Very good in Air-Raid passing attacks, but will falter outside of structure, especially with a larger playbook. Will not translate to the NFL as a starter.
Trinidad Chambliss --> Taylor Heinicke. Undersized QB with a gunslinger mentality. Lack of size will be more punishing outside of college level. Will not translate to the NFL.
Austin Simmons --> Mitchell Trubisky (without the dual-threat ability). Athletically gifted with great efficiency, but fails to process defenders, and with very limited starting sample size. Will not translate to the NFL.
LaNorris Sellers --> Anthony Richardson. Very good dual threat ability, but terrible thrower of the football. Will not translate to the NFL.

Lincoln Riley
If I’m a young top qb trying to make it in the league, I’m trying to go to USC. Looking at qb manufacturing college schools, USC is going to be at the top after Maiava. I say this as a OSU fan, but looking at Maiava tonight, it’s hard to deny the intangibles these last two USC guys operate with. I say this as Maiava is getting absolutely demolished by this Wiscy pass rush lol.
As a side note, even Miller Moss found his way to the pros, with his brief stint at USC.
Point I’m trying to make, is that Lincoln is flexing his prowess as a qb developer.
Maiava looks good.

LSU OT Jordan Seaton Scouting Report
Height: 6045
Weight: 307
Position: OT
Year: Jr
Born on June 19th 2005, Jordan Seaton was a Five-Star OT prospect in the class of 2024 coming out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Ranked as the best OT and 13th overall prospect, the DC-native was heavily sought after by high-end P4 programs for his rare athletic ability. Despite getting offers from powerhouses like Alabama and Ohio State, Seaton committed to Colorado and continued a trend of high-end HS prospects turning down major offers to play for Deion Sanders.
As a true freshman, Jordan Seaton was named the starting LT for the Buffaloes and became the first true freshman starting OT in program history. After two seasons of quality blocking, Seaton would earn Freshman All-American (2024) and Second-Team All-Big 12 (2025) honors. After many of Colorado’s stars left for the NFL and the program failed to meet preseason hype, Seaton decided to look for a change of scenery and entered the 2026 transfer portal. As the top OT transfer prospect, Seaton joined newly hired HC Lane Kiffin and top transfer QB prospect Sam Leavitt at LSU. With national championship and first-round draft aspirations, Seaton is one of the premier OT prospects in this upcoming draft class.
If you want to read my report, watch my embedded film cut up, and see my draft comparison for Seaton, then click the link above.

Discussion Potential for 6-8 first round QBs?
Depending on how many enter, the following QBs all have potential to go in Round 1 somewhere:
Drew Mestemaker
CJ Carr
Trinidad Chambliss
Darian Mensah
Dante Moore
Arch Manning
Austin Simmons
Julian Sayin
There are even some darkhorse candidates who could rise significantly based on level of play, including Sam Leavitt, LaNorris Sellers, and Jayden Maiava.
It will also of course depend on who needs one. We are operating under the assumption that the Browns, Jets, Cardinals, and Steelers are guaranteed to take a QB at some point in R1. Thats four right there. Depending on what happens with Jalen Hurts, the Eagles could potentially be in the market for a R1 quarterback. The Dolphins could either trade up from 33 into the back end of round 1 or pick one at 2. The Colts could get very aggressive and trade into round 1. Maybe the Falcons are done with Penix and want a fresh start. The Commanders could be sick of Jayden's injuries and just want to wipe it clean. Maybe the Cowboys &/or Buccaneers want succession plans for Prescott & Mayfield? And I have always said to never assume anything with the Vikings, and O'Connell could fall in love with another QB like he did with JJ.
Free agency could also play a factor, with guys like Mac Jones or Kirk Cousins being free agents and the obvious elephant in the room being Kyler Murray.
EDIT: Also even forgot to mention the Titans, would could just be sick of Cam Ward.

Thoughts on Lance Heard?
Kentucky has been the surprise team in the SEC this year, sitting at 6-1 and ranked 12th in the nation. The offensive line has been the strength of the team, in particular LT Lance Heard. Heard has caught my attention this season, a former five-star recruit who's been elite in pass protection and has the athleticism needed as a run blocker. I wanted to ask what y'all think about Heard as a prospect and how high you believe he can be selected in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Discussion Arm Strength Tiers via Clint Goss on Twitter
Thought it could provide a fun discussion for people around these parts.
He does specify:
Yes, I realize they won’t all declare
Yes, I realize you have someone to add
No, adequate isn’t bad. Good enough
Yes, I know strength isn’t everything
There’s “adequate” higher on my board than “RIP IT”

Other Blog Wednesday - The Draftroom
I built an NFL draft simulator, and this week I changed a lot of it after fair criticism here, mostly about teams drafting positions where they're already set.
What changed:
- The mock is built one pick at a time. 400 simulated drafts at pick 1, keep the most common pick, lock it in, then 400 more from pick 2, and so on down the round.
- Team needs come from the experts now, not my own model: the NFL.com, Pro Football Network, Athlon and PFF need lists, combined.
- Teams only take a player at a position they don't need if he has really fallen, about 20% past his pick. At pick 17 he has to be ranked 13th or better.
- The board is a consensus of 7 public big boards, now including PFF, Renner, Kiper, Reid and Lamb.
This week's Round 1 (board as of Oct 20, after Week 7):
- Los Angeles Chargers: Jeremiah Smith, WR (Ohio State)
- Miami Dolphins: Leonard Moore, CB (Notre Dame)
- Tennessee Titans: Colin Simmons, EDGE (Texas)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Dylan Stewart, EDGE (South Carolina)
- Washington Commanders: Charlie Becker, WR (Indiana)
- New York Jets (via Cowboys): Drew Mestemaker, QB (Oklahoma State)
- Philadelphia Eagles: Trevor Goosby, OT (Texas)
- Houston Texans: Will Echoles, DT (Ole Miss)
- New York Jets (via Colts): Ashton Hampton, CB (Clemson)
- Arizona Cardinals: Arch Manning, QB (Texas)
- Cleveland Browns (via Rams): Jordan Seaton, OT (LSU)
- New Orleans Saints: Cam Coleman, WR (Texas)
- New York Jets: Chris Cole, LB (Georgia)
- Atlanta Falcons: CJ Carr, QB (Notre Dame)
- Las Vegas Raiders: Ellis Robinson IV, CB (Georgia)
- Seattle Seahawks: Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE (Alabama)
- Cincinnati Bengals: Jadan Baugh, RB (Florida)
- Baltimore Ravens: Kelley Jones, CB (Mississippi State)
- New York Giants: Greg Johnson, OG (Minnesota)
- Carolina Panthers: Jamari Johnson, TE (Oregon)
- Detroit Lions: A'Mauri Washington, DT (Oregon)
- Pittsburgh Steelers: Darian Mensah, QB (Miami)
- Denver Broncos: KJ Bolden, S (Georgia)
- New England Patriots: David Stone, DT (Oklahoma)
- Jacksonville Jaguars: Kade Pieper, OG (Iowa)
- Cleveland Browns: Trinidad Chambliss, QB (Ole Miss)
- Dallas Cowboys (via Packers): KJ Duff, WR (Rutgers)
- Chicago Bears: Ahmad Moten Sr., DT (Miami)
- Buffalo Bills: Zabien Brown, CB (Alabama)
- Minnesota Vikings: Dante Moore, QB (Oregon)
- Kansas City Chiefs: Trevor Lauck, OT (Iowa)
- San Francisco 49ers: Carter Smith, OT (Indiana)
Six quarterbacks go in Round 1! First time I've had that result.
