Jadarian Price hasn’t had a snap since Week 3. He’s one of the rookies with a gap in his snap data. Anyone know what’s going on, injury or a scheme thing? Would love to see more of him.

Opinion One thing to keep in mind with the Quenton Nelson move: Future Contracts

Post image
135 Upvotes

Next offseason is going to be pivotal for the Seahawks' future, with a ton of guys either hitting Free Agency or becoming eligible for an extension. Some notable names on that list are:

Sam Darnold (final year)
Julian Love (final year)
Ernest Jones (final year)
AJ Barner (final year)
Drake Thomas (final year)
Byron Murphy (eligible for big extension)
Quenton Nelson (FA)
Uchenna Nwosu (FA)
Zach Charbonnet (FA)
Anthony Bradford (FA)
Drew Lock (FA)
Jason Myers (FA)

Now obviously the Seahawks aren't going to extend all those guys, but there are still some heavy hitters in there that we would very much like to stay Seahawks. And with some big contracts that we've given out recently (JSN, Spoon, Big Cat, Cross, Lucas, Shaheed, Hall) we are already a little bit stretched cap wise.

So with all the (warranted!) excitement around this trade, just keep in mind that a $25+mil extension for Quenton Nelson is most likely going to require a big sacrifice elsewhere. It would already be close to impossible to extend both Darnold (50mil+) and Murphy (35mil+) on top of that, and that is even without looking at Emmanwori the year after. Just something to consider.

That doesn't matter for this year though. So for now, Let's Go Win A SUPERBOWL!!!

Opinion Other than the Bears which could be 50/50 and the 49ers, the rest of this season is very winnable, and the Seattle Seahawks could go on a run

Analysis [Destin] Quenton Nelson trade underscores Seahawks’ confidence amid bumpy start to 2026

Just two days after the Seattle Seahawks dismantled the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle’s general manager made a move that not only propped open the team’s championship window but also doubled down on his belief in this team’s ability to go back-to-back.

The Seahawks acquired left guard Quenton Nelson from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick Tuesday, pending a physical. It’s a clear win-now move for the Seahawks, who didn’t look the part of the reigning Super Bowl champions through much of their first six games of the regular season, yet certainly did Sunday against the Chiefs.

Some of the keys to Seattle’s latest victory — controlling time of possession, avoiding turnovers and establishing a consistent running game — will become much more repeatable with Nelson, who has earned eight consecutive Pro Bowl nods to start his career. He will immediately bolster an offensive line that has struggled since a breakthrough 2025 season, including allowing 10 sacks of quarterback Sam Darnold in the team’s two most recent losses.

Discussion Hypothetically, if you trade for a player on an expiring contract, and that player signs somewhere else, do you still get a comp pick for said player?

This isn't about Nelson in particular, the thought just came up.

if you do get a comp pick for a player you traded for, that would essentially reduce what you gave up for a player you traded for, when it's all set and done

Trivia We now have 3 first round picks on our OL

One of which will be in the HoF soon.

Remember when our OL sucked and was totally starved of decent draft investment? What an amazing turnaround by JS.

Opinion Big Q in the white throwbacks next year will go hard

Funny how the color scheme would be almost identical to the Colts. I wish the white throwbacks were available by the playoffs.

Discussion If John makes any more deadline trades, what positions do you hope he targets?

The Quentin nelson trade is awesome, but its not even trade deadline week yet so its possible John might make more moves (solid chance he doesn't but he could). lots of people were asking for JT who we really dont need, and our biggest weakness so far this season position group wise has been the o-line which John just addressed, which begs the question, what else might we want to trade for? im not naming players, more so wondering what positions the team views as the most needing a trade.

the only position on the offense i can think of as a "weakness" is i guess tight end(we lost depth with arroyo going down), even though Barner is great, getting someone like Trey McBride would be pretty funny (though insanely unlikely). Sam is safe, our line just got an upgrade, our running backs are almost all back and our WR room probably doesn't need to get more crowded when JSN is playing like he is.

as for the defense, we've looked great just about everywhere, obviously we wouldn't trade for any big time DT's what with Byron's contract coming. our corners seem solid, Pritchett has done pretty good as CB2/3 from what ive seen (i think). but maybe they want more corners for depth? Saftey has stabilized since Love and Okada are properly in plus Demonwori, and we got bud waiting in the wings for next season so they probably wont make a splash there. while we're hurt at LB currently, Tyrice knight seems to be a pretty excellent backup, so again, i think they're satisfied with that position. so maybe edge? honestly as ive been writing this i do think that we probably dont make any more big splash trades, i wouldn't be surprised to see a trade for depth, but that might not even happen. curious what y'all think

Opinion Quenton Nelson trade was a catastrophic move

Seahawks had very little cap space going into this year after an offseason's worth of big signings, some better than others (Rashid Shaheed signing has proven to be a very bad one). But this Quenton Nelson trade is just disastrous. Now the Seahawks have the 5th lowest cap space in the entire NFL, and for what? An extension for him in the offseason is going to be way too expensive as with this nonexistent cap space the Seahawks have to somehow find a way to extend Byron Murphy and Julian Love, who both are going to want huge amounts of money.

Which means that the Seahawks threw away two picks, which are 3rd and 5th rounders (you may scoff at a 5th, but John Schneider often does some of his better drafting work in the 5th)), to bring in a 30 year old guy in decline for a few months. That's it. So while Seahawks fans everywhere seem to be celebrating and rejoicing over this trade, I'm wondering how nobody has noticed how atrocious of a move it was

Opinion We are getting JT

I know it might sound a little crazy, but on paper, it makes perfect sense.

Here’s why.

Nwosu will come off the books next year freeing up $15m per year.

The addition of Nelson opens up the ability to completely dominating the run game, which will reduce Darnold’s need to throw. Which, reduces chances for turnovers and lengthens drives thereby helping the defense.

Charb is coming off a major injury. There is no guarantee he will be able to shoulder the load this year. For a team that can repeat, that’s a huge risk to gamble on post trade deadline.

Price has not shown the ball security and blocking ability needed to be a lead back this year.

JT immediately gives us another weapon on offense. Right now, JSN is shouldering the entire load. This puts a beating on his body and the threat of a back like JT will open up guys like Barner and Shaheed in the passing game.

Super Bowl - after last weeks statement win vs the chiefs, this team has shown they can repeat, if their offense can just be mediocre. The addition of JT and Nelson would elevate our run game likely above what we saw last year.

We have a window, and I believe JS knows it. He is going to go all in.

Discussion Taylor trade possibility post-Nelson trade

With the Seahawks trading for Quenton Nelson, does this affect the likelihood that they trade for Johnathan Taylor, in your mind? If they were going to get both from the Colts, seems like they'd get both in one deal, no? Would the picks lost in the Nelson deal take them out of the running for a potential in-season trade for Taylor?

Opinion Trading for Quenton Nelson makes me feel better about losing Steve Hutchinson

We kind of lost Hutch — an elite guard — at a similar junction in his career. Hopefully Quenton can make up for those years missed (Hutch or Unger)

Discussion Going to my first Seahawks game. Any tips to give my 5 year old the best experience possible?

Me and my 5 year old son are going to be going to the Bears game on Monday. This will be both of our first times going to an NFL game. We’ve been to a ton of college games so it’s not a completely new experience. But he latched onto the Bears as his favorite team (don’t roast him too bad) so when we saw they were going to be in the PNW this year we couldn’t miss it. Any pointers to give him the best experience possible at Lumen as a fan of the visiting team would be appreciated.

Opinion Help finding a Seahawks podcast

Hey guys. I need your help finding a podcast that I listened to after the 49ers game please.

I don’t remember if I listened on YouTube or Apple Podcasts, but it was definitely one of the two.

It had three men, one of whom was at the airport. The guy at the airport was PISSED and I specifically remember him saying he never wanted to see Holani in a Seahawks uniform again.

I wish I had hit subscribe because there’s tons of football podcasts and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of this particular one. Thanks.

Analysis Will the Seahawks extend AJ Barner when the time comes?

I believe AJ’s contract goes through the 2027 season so we’re good for a bit but do we think we get him paid when it’s time?

I love him as our tight end and he plays with a lot of energy and swagger. That can be hard to find in this league not to mention the Barnyard is our best short yardage play

Discussion Dumb Question: How soon would Nelson start playing or be impactful?

I do understand that how quickly a player suits up to play after a trade depends on the position and their ability to absorb the playbook. With that said, I don't know how long that is depending on each respective position.

All this to say, how soon could Nelson start AND be impactful?

Discussion The Best Use of Our New Addition

My vote is to move Zabel to Center. He can play anywhere and I think out weakest link is Sundell.

Cross Nelson Zabel Bradford Lucas

That's a line that can maul.
