People tend to call Seoul “cyberpunk,” but the maze-like neighborhood of Sujin-dong on the outskirts of Seoul takes things to another level. These were photos I took while I was still living in South Korea with my Canon 650D. Compared to Seoul, Sujin is far more gritty with old, organic buildings with dark alleys that run between them, old neon lights, and wires dangling above you as you walk through the night, yet with modern Gangnam and Bundang only a short distance away. The nighttime atmosphere is friendly yet eerie at the same time. It’s not quite on the level of the Kowloon Walled City, but it might be a cyberpunk labyrinth in its own way.

After a cold Saturday, today was so beautiful out in Seoul. A nice afternoon at the Han River Park.

You can rent picnic mats (with blankets and/or little plastic tables). Many vendors can be found; easy to rent even as a foreigner.

There's tons of places to get snacks, foods and beverages too. Of course the famous instant ramen machines ~ over near 라밥 floating building, but also many vendors that set up.

Get off at Yeouinaru Station Exit 2 (여의나루 역).

Shinyongsan looked even more hip today than usual…
