Hello friends.
About an hour ago I might have fried my laptop. I bought it new Dec 2023. After a few months of light usage (sometime in 2024), I forgot my login and left it in a box where it stayed until three days ago when I found it and reset the login. Roughly twenty hours of updates later, I thought everything was functioning well.
Today I unplugged my basic wired mouse from my desktop (which works just fine) and plugged it into my laptop. Immediately the screen froze and it stayed frozen even after unplugging the mouse. I thought it might have been coincidence or a bad USB, so I restarted the laptop, checked for driver updates, and plugged in the mouse again in a different port. Same result. I abandoned the mouse and restarted the computer. It kept freezing, and once I managed to sign in the screen was covered in orange and brown, and then froze once more.
I haven't been able to even turn the screen on. Pressing the power button turns on the internal fans (I can hear them) and a couple lights on the keyboard. All of these turn off and on intermittently on their on.
I really can't stress enough how little this laptop has been used before this weekend.
Anyway, how deep-fried is this laptop on a scale of 1-10?
