Hi r/Georgia!

I’m GA PSC Commissioner Peter Hubbard, and I’m here to answer your questions from 6–8 PM ET tonight!

I’m running for a full term on the Georgia Public Service Commission in the November 3 election.

Ask me anything about power bills, data centers, the PSC, or anything else you’d like to know! I’ll be answering questions in the comments until 8pm.

My PSC Power Ticket running mate, Shelia Edwards, has a scheduling conflict and unfortunately won’t be able to join us tonight.

Looking forward to your questions!

— Peter Hubbard

That are approximately 8.2 million voters in Georgia. About 1.74 million people have voted so far, which is at or near record levels.

Do you really want to wait in long lines on Tuesday?
Do you have a plan to vote? Do your friends have a plan to vote?
Do you understand the proposed constitutional amendments on the ballot?

Study the ballot. Make a plan. Vote. Help your friends vote.

Early voting ends this Friday at 7:00 PM.

Other Missing Cat in City of Madison

Good afternoon y’all. Sorry if this goes against group rules or anything. I don’t post much and I’m doing so from mobile. Anyways, my cat got out when bringing in groceries last weekend, and has been missing for the past 3 days. He has gotten out before but always returned around meal times. I’ve now hit the point of stressing out. He is a black and white male cat. Name of Bagheera, not that there will be anyway to tell that. If anyone finds a male black and white cat, please reach out to me on here with a picture. He is about 6 years old and is an important part of our household. I’ve attached a few pictures to help with ID. We live south of the town of Madison, by the intersection of Eatonton Rd and Seven Islands Rd. Thank you all any help you put forward. Any advice on where to reach out for found cats can help as well.

Question I moved about a week ago. Do I need to update my voter registration before next week's election?

I moved just about a week ago and am trying to figure out how to handle updating my address without affecting my ability to vote next week. I also still have to update the address on my ID. My new address is the same precinct/voting place as my old address. (I know that because I just moved from one apartment to another in the same complex.) Can I still vote next week if my voter registration and ID have my old address? Should I wait until after the election to update these? When I go to vote, do I need to let the polling staff know my address has changed even if I haven't updated it on my voter info and ID?

https://www.ajc.com/politics/2026/10/georgia-democratic-counties-monitor-elections/

I said this the other day and I'll say it again:

I truly despise all the scums of Georgia who think Rick Jackson should be the next governor.

His sole qualification is "successful (rich Caucasian) businessman" who amassed his wealth via sketchy means.

Edit: Using federal prosecutors as election monitors is a new development:

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/doj-has-monitored-elections-for-decades-heres-why-some-state-officials-are-concerned-this-year

https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/monitoring-monitors-us-states-prepare-surge-justice-dept-election-watchers-2026-10-21/

The goons come to look for "potential criminals" whether it's election-related or else.

Question CAPS for childcare

Hi everyone,

I have to change my child care provider for the caps since we changed elementary school .

When I log into my georgia gateway account and click "report my changes", it only lets me change things like household size, address, or income. I am desperate and cannot find the option to select or change my child care provider/facility.My caseworker sent me youtube link, but it is not showing how to change.

Question Looking for a dancing spot in ATL or near Gwinnett

Exactly what the post says. Are there any clubs or lounges that have a dance floor and play almost exclusively Japanese city pop, yacht rock, 80s pop, or 90s R&B?

Either one of those. I just want to dance to some doobie brothers and have a drink then get back out there when Whitney or George Michael comes on.

Thank you!!!

Discussion New Audi Plant in Middle Georgia

There was an announcement tonight about a new Audi assembly plant coming to middle Georgia. Definitely a huge economic benefit to the state but it definitely has its drawbacks with the ensuing supplier development. What are your thoughts?

Question I am a registered voter in the state of GA. I am unable to request an absentee ballot on the Secretary of State's website.

I have verified, using the Secretary of State's website, that I am indeed an active registered voter. All of my information, including my address and county of residence, is correct.

However, when I try to submit an absentee ballot online, I am unable to get past the initial page of "Election Details." I've tried 3 different web browsers - Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, using my Windows computer. I've cleared my browser history in Control Panel, and rebooted my computer. Even ran disk cleanup for good measure.

I have the same issues when trying to use my Android phone to access the website.

I tried calling the Secretary of State's phone number, listed on the website, to report problems with the web page. But it just plays an automated message which says they're assisting other callers, and then it hangs up on me.

I want to vote! Is anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: Yesterday was the last day to request an absentee ballot. That's on me.

I'm looking into early voting, to see what works with my work schedule.

I found this link, which was shared by a commentator in response to this post, to be helpful (if you scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll find a link to look up early voting locations for your county):
