A bit of sugar water, was very awkward to hold in this position while filming but worth it lol. Currently outside my window in the shockingly warm sun for almost November! With the spoon, with more water.

This happened a few weeks ago in my house in Guadalajara, Mexico. We tried to move them to a beehive but the bees didn't liked it and moved elsewhere

No hard frost or freeze yet so a few sunflowers left for the bees to sleep overnight waiting for the sun to get warmer. Hang in there little dudes

bee ID What kind of bee is this? (If it is a bee)

Hello! I have this bee (I think it’s a bee) on my screen door. It seemed sluggish yesterday so I gave it some warm sugar water. At first I thought maybe it was an emaciated bumble bee but I’m starting to wonder if it could be a carpenter bee? It seems to want into my house but I assumed it’s bc it wanted the warmth. If it is a carpenter bee what should I do to avoid any damage to my house? I’m assuming one bee won’t do much but I worry more abt them setting up shop and there being more lol. I also don’t see a stinger on it.

Update: He’s not on the screen anymore so hopefully that means he got enough energy to keep doing his thang for now! I saw a bumblebee flying around the garden but I don’t think it was him bc it seemed a big bigger.
Also I wanted to say this is a very pleasant subreddit! I always get nervous posting in a new sub for the first time because some people can be so rude toward newcomers or the less knowledgeable so I really appreciate the info and also the upvotes! This is a very cozy space!

this is the first time I've seen a bee with her pollen balls on her hind legs so it was fascinating! I feel much more encouraged to watch bees at random flowers now :)!

I was walking by a row of bushes with flowers and saw probably 30 bees flying around (something I'd never seen!!) and I kinda jogged forward to avoid attack. But then I wanted a picture so went back and very carefully took one, and then about 30 more and was very surprised the bees weren't going to attack me. Them things is cool!

was birding yesterday and came across this gorgeous open air hive. it was high up in a tree, i would estimate these combs are at least 2ft in length each. so amazing and the comb color was just glowing in the afternoon light!!!

anyone know what will come of these friends once winter arrives more fully? can they survive the season like this?

This spot was a doozy to get opened up... from completely rusted out floor screws, to cutting a skid plate that was blocking the wood that we needed to cut, just to find out that it keep going further than we thought. To top it all off, we didn't even find the queen in the floor! She was outside the shipping container!

These bees were rescued, donated and relocated to our beekeeper friends in San Diego, CA

question Relocating multiple woodpiles

After a fire that took down a lot of trees in our windbreak on our property in the high plains, we have various piles of wood. We’ve noticed a significant increase in tiny, native bees (and other insects), but we need to move these piles to be less of a fire risk. When and how can this be done to protect whatever bees are living inside?

Poor little thing fell in my coffee, so I got him out and soaked a q tip to help wash him off so he wouldnt be sticky (my coffee is sweet 😀) . He let me wipe all over him, even his eyes. He stayed with me for a bit and I sat him on my marigolds and let him groom himself some,he also got some sippies off the qtip (which also had hints of sweet coffee 😅). At one point while i had him on the qtip and half on my hand, a fly landed next to him and he charged him off 😅.Eventually he finally was able to fly fine and he was on his way 💛🖤💛🖤 He was a sweetie 🥰
