Is it safe to use Grab for transport, especially from the airport?
Are there any scams involving street vendors, shopping malls, money changers, or tourist attractions?
Are there any places or situations I should avoid?
What are your best tips for staying safe and protecting my money, passport, and belongings?
Are there any common tourist mistakes that I should avoid?

I’m particularly interested in practical advice from people who live in Malaysia or have visited Kuala Lumpur recently.
I don’t want to be overly worried about everything — I just want to be prepared, avoid unnecessary problems, and enjoy my holiday.

SHAH ALAM: Kerajaan Negeri Selangor tidak berkompromi dengan sebarang penyalahgunaan rumah ibadat bagi tujuan jenayah tanpa mengira agama, kaum atau latar belakang pihak terlibat di negeri itu.

Exco Sumber Manusia dan Pembasmian Kemiskinan negeri V. Papparaidu berkata beliau memandang serius laporan media tentang penemuan dadah di sebuah rumah ibadat tidak berdaftar di Klang, dekat sini menerusi operasi Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Narkotik (JSJN) Selangor yang dijalankan antara 13 hingga 19 Okt lepas.

"Kes ini menunjukkan pentingnya tindakan penguatkuasaan tegas bagi membanteras kegiatan pengedaran dadah dan penyalahgunaan premis.

"Rumah ibadat sepatutnya menjadi tempat dihormati, dipelihara kesuciannya dan memberikan ketenangan kepada penganut agama masing-masing, bukannya tempat penyimpanan bahan terlarang atau kegiatan jenayah," katanya dalam kenyataan, hari ini.

Pengerusi Bersama Jawatankuasa Khas Agama Buddha, Kristian, Hindu, Sikh dan Tao (LIMAS) itu berkata tiada kompromi terhadap sebarang penyalahgunaan rumah ibadat bagi tujuan jenayah.

"Bagaimanapun, kita perlu membezakan antara perbuatan jenayah individu dengan institusi keagamaan serta komuniti penganut agama berkenaan. Kesalahan segelintir individu tidak seharusnya dijadikan alasan untuk memburukkan atau memberikan stigma kepada keseluruhan komuniti agama tertentu," katanya.

Beliau berkata isu itu bukan soal agama atau kaum, sebaliknya berkaitan kedaulatan undang-undang, keselamatan masyarakat dan penghormatan terhadap kesucian rumah ibadat.

"Sebarang kegiatan jenayah perlu ditangani berdasarkan bukti dan undang-undang, bukannya sentimen atau prasangka terhadap mana-mana kumpulan masyarakat.

"Saya menyokong usaha polis menjalankan siasatan secara menyeluruh dan mengambil tindakan sewajarnya terhadap mereka yang terlibat," katanya.

Dalam pada itu, Papparaidu berkata pematuhan peraturan penggunaan tanah dan premis rumah ibadat perlu dipastikan oleh pihak berkuasa berkenaan mengikut peruntukan undang-undang.

“Di samping itu, masyarakat diseru tidak menyebarkan maklumat belum disahkan atau membuat kesimpulan yang boleh mencetuskan ketegangan antara agama,” katanya.

Terdahulu, polis Selangor berjaya menumpaskan kegiatan pengedaran dadah yang dipercayai menjadikan sebuah rumah ibadat tidak berdaftar di Klang sebagai tempat penyimpanan menerusi operasi di sekitar Selangor dari 13 hingga 19 Okt lepas.

Kuala Lumpur: CIMB menjangkakan Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) akan menaikkan kadar dasar semalaman (OPR) sebanyak 25 mata asas kepada 3.00 peratus pada Mac 2027, berbanding unjuran terdahulu yang menyaksikan kadar itu kekal pada 2.75 peratus sehingga suku ketiga tahun depan.

Unjuran baharu itu mengambil kira jangkaan peningkatan inflasi teras kepada sekitar 2.5 peratus pada suku ketiga 2027, sekali gus mengukuhkan alasan BNM menarik balik pengurangan kadar faedah dilaksanakan pada Julai 2025 sebelum tekanan harga menjadi lebih ketara.

Menurut laporan penyelidikan ekonomi CIMB Treasury and Markets Research, kenaikan OPR yang dijangkakan itu bersifat langkah awal bagi menangani potensi tekanan inflasi, meskipun kadar inflasi semasa terkawal.

Ahli Ekonominya, Chew Khai Yen dan Ketua Penyelidikan, Michelle Chia berkata, peningkatan perbelanjaan isi rumah yang dijangka berlaku pada separuh kedua 2027 berpotensi mengukuhkan permintaan domestik, sekali gus memberi lebih ruang kepada perniagaan memindahkan kenaikan kos operasi kepada pengguna.

Laporan itu menjelaskan langkah menaikkan OPR pada Mac 2027 akan membolehkan BNM bertindak lebih awal terhadap tekanan inflasi yang dijangka meningkat pada separuh kedua tahun berkenaan, dan bukannya menunggu sehingga inflasi teras mencapai paras tertingginya.

Why do we (Malaysian n Humanity) always fight and hate each other so much? I can understand it typically originate from tribalistic tendencies of us to protect our group (religion, race, gender, politics party, or even our favorite football club GGMU), for me there should be a threshold or some limit on some topics to separate where our rage should be pouring out (on the internet mostly) and when some topics only need an academic argument and factual data with the minimum of emotion and slur involve in it. I mean if we want to be a "Negara Maju" we can't be a hypocrite and only try to be timid and respectful in outside world only (dw Ik racism still happen outside). Specifically, I get that some online take and opinion can sound too dumb and "ragebaiting", but don't some of us think it's a bit demoralizing reading some unnecessary word and slur use to counter the argument? simply my suggestion is, u can't beat a fire with a fire with a better combustion, yes, it's a better fire but it's still a fire, why don't we counter an argument while cutting the source of the fire, be reasonable with the word use, totally different approach from the original argument we try to counter, I really want we (Malaysian) to be progressive even in social media (e.g. X, Threads, and Reddit).

There's more I want to discuss, I thought of the social problem of gossiping. But for now, I thought to continue this discussion ln another day. Sorry if my English is kind of confusing and if there's a grammatical error in it, I'm not used to write in it, and I mostly use correction suggested to me.

For context, my friends and I accidentally entered the wrong toll entry so we backed out and re-entered the correct entry. This car came speeding into the toll entry and (I assume this was my fault) screeched to a halt mere inches away from us. He then started honking his horn as we finished paying our toll. This car then proceeded to follow us and repeatedly brake check us for the next 10 to 15 minutes. At this point we were about to reach our home so to avoid a confrontation I ended up pretending to take an exit to lose the car.

Is there a realistic chance this person will be charged or atleast fined?
