I remember being religious. Striving, praying, fasting for things I wanted or needed just for nothing to happen, the opposite to happen, or it happens with a catch 22. I would even adapt things that are mirrored here (act as if it’s done, have faith, give it time, do the real life work) and I would still be unsuccessful. Even after deconstructing for a while the one thing I can’t seem to shake is the feeling of everything going to voicemail. 

I’ve attempted to make a connection with my ancestors, I’ve tried to make spirit connections (angels, deities, etc.) and it’s never not felt like speaking to a wall, or worse so speaking to someone who hears you, understands you, and doesn’t care. I can cry, scream, pour my heart out while doing workings and nothing happens in the long run. Even divination just feels plastic. I used to be an avid dreamer, so I usually ask for signs and dreams and even that has been dry. I used to look for “signs” and “confirmation“ when I was religious so that honestly doesn’t move me.

Never had problem doing the mundane work, and even after consistent rug pulls I’ve always got back up and figured it out. This time in life I’m backed into a corner and the pieces have fallen so strategically where my mundane efforts can’t clear the road (even then, I’m still trying). It begins to feel like everything knows that I’ll adapt to anything and I’ll live so there’s no reason to intervene.

The worst part is I don’t even know what being heard, or asking and receiving even feels like.

I can’t tell if I’m running an old program that’s not allowing anything to come through or there isn’t anything listening at all. Even if it truly is the latter, it would be fine with me. I just want to hear human input from a different perspective!

Jinn don’t just change shapes for fun. Because their native form is subtle, vibrating like a smokeless flame, interacting with our dense reality requires a proxy. Taking the form of an animal is simply the easiest way to slip through human spaces without raising immediate alarms.

Classical sources from Islamic hadith classifications to regional Persian and Turkic folklore often divide these sightings into flying entities, wandering spirits, and those taking the shape of snakes and dogs. Following the publication of my first book, Jinn Diaries, and through my ongoing research, I kept coming across a distinct pattern regarding why animals are chosen: infiltration and psychological warfare. Moving through houses, ruins, or fields as a domestic or wild animal goes completely unnoticed. Interestingly, this is extremely common in the accounts of local treasure hunters and illicit diggers across Anatolia, who frequently report encountering strangely fearless, uncanny animals right when unearthing ancient structures or opening sealed chambers.

More importantly, a jinn in animal form doesn’t usually attack right away. Instead, they trigger micro-panics—a cat vanishing mid-stride, or a dog standing perfectly still in the dark. In regional folklore, sudden fear is believed to lower a human's spiritual defenses. The animal shape acts as a scout, marking a person whose willpower has temporarily broken.

The chosen forms almost always represent liminal spaces. The snake is the ultimate symbol of subterranean depth, which is why traditional lore dictates warning a house snake three times before taking action, suspecting it might be an ʿĀmir—a resident jinn. Dogs guard the border between human civilization and the wild, while cats inhabit the home yet remain entirely detached. Siyah (black) animals, in particular, act as natural acoustic and visual shadows for subtle entities.

This is where things cross over into modern Western high strangeness. When you look at reported encounters with figures like the 'Hat Man', shadow people, or strange shapeshifting cryptids in desolate forests, they share the exact same operational mechanics as traditional jinn lore. In regional Middle Eastern and Anatolian tradition, these aren't separate species of monsters or urban legends—they are simply subtle entities pulling from human expectations to manifest at the edges of perception.

Yet, despite folklore stating jinn can mimic almost any creature—from goats and scorpions to birds and donkeys—there is one absolute exception across Central Asian, Turkic, and Middle Eastern tradition: the wolf.

Traditional lore holds that jinn cannot take the form of a wolf, nor can they inhabit spaces dominated by them. Unlike dogs, which may only bark at unseen presences, wolves are believed in regional folklore to actively perceive and attack them. In ancient nomadic and mountain lore, jinn supposedly feared the living wolf so much that it drove their presence away from high wilderness areas toward human settlements and ruins.

For those who study traditional demonology or entity interactions: does your regional folklore have specific "forbidden forms" that entities cannot take, or animals that actively repel them?

A guy died at my apt a long time ago, hauted this place is. I'll also put a mirror near and a chair (symbolic place for the guest) and a few candles and paper with pen (symbolic communication) and also a fluorescent light (maybe as indicator for possible energies).

Words are limitations. Words are form, sound, geometry, all of these are a distortion of direct force and influence. Any occult practices, studies, and the like are merely work within a cage. It is all just a cage. And if you work with various entities, then those entities, too, have their own cage within their own world.

It is a mistake to think that knowledge plays a major role in exerting influence. Knowledge is important, but only if you choose to limit yourself. Knowledge, forms, and entities are already forms of constrained energy; by believing in them, you effectively "condense" the reality around you.

There is "dull, foolish knowledge", knowledge that is useless, and then there is "useful" knowledge. But both kinds simply "exist." When something comes into being, it can emerge from an absolute void. Everything material here originates from an absolute void, which simply is.

I recently picked up Liber Null & Psychonaut on Audible for a sale, but I quickly realized Im missing out on a good chunk of information when the narrator is referencing images and diagrams I cant see. Hi all! I practice Psalms magick, but cannot read or write in Hebrew. What is the general consensus of playing Hebrew recitations aloud? Could it produce the same effect as reciting Hebrew?

Especially in regards to love? Something I can make myself for the first time, and its ingredients are favourable to the spirits.

As the title says. A connection, or stronger connection potentially. For instance, an angel being your namesake. Do you think that ties one to them? Just wondering. It seems possible ime. (Edit: I mean intentionally naming, not coincidentally. Hence “namesake”)

Just a curiosity question because what I hear of the people who do work with angels is that it’s always archangel Michael or Raphael. What about non-archangels? Who are they, and how are they like? A friend and I have been studying Tarot and other magical practices. He has been studying the Golden Dawn self-initiation, among other things. I had the idea to make generic, un-consecrated tools for the trade, that others could buy and then personalize. We are starting with wands. I know there are many variations on practices regarding magical implements. I'm seeking advice about what would be the best universal practices for creating these implements, and I wish to not offend anyone, either. We eventually want to make other implements, but have decided to start with wands. Any advice?

If it's possible to do some magick to make people keep their promises? I hate chasing people to give updates for the same thing I ask over and over again. For instance, if a job recruiter keeps giving a cryptic update with regards to job availability to positions, is there anything I can do to speed things up? Or force them to actually do their job? And can I also do this not only for myself but for a family member or friend? Thank you all.

So, im a teen boy whose obsessed with wanting to learn everything and I know my time in this life is finite. I was wondering if there's any type of magic, ritual or anything like that, that could increase my learning speed at an exponential rate. Ok for those who are familiar with the topic please give me your honest opinion.

My idea is to bring a sigil with me to the gym, and discreetly place it at the station I’m working out. I will go through each set to the point of failure where I am almost out of breath, tired and hurting with the lactic acid build up. Just when I complete my last rep, I will then focus on the sigil and use that condition I’m in (supposedly almost in a trance.. almost) and hope it charges the sigil. After multiple reps of different exercises, surely it can be considered to have gone through several charges?
